Fifth Grade

Courtney Thompson
I have been teaching for 4 years at Oakbrook, 1 of those years as the Art/Music teacher. However, I am thrilled to be back in the fifth grade classroom. I earned my Bachelors in Elementary Education and Minor in Literacy from Central Washington University in 2014. Since then I have been continuing my own education. Currently I am working on my Masters of Educational Administration and plan to be done this Spring. My future goal is to become an Elementary Principal!

Philosophy
Teaching has always been a passion for me. I have a love for learning and I hope that your child comes to love learning as much as I do. By making my classroom a safe, fun and disciplined place for your child, I hope they will enjoy coming and learning new ideas. I feel that all children are unique and require specific attention and affection for them to flourish. I will strive to be that for each individual student; an educator who loves each child that walks through the door, giving them equal opportunities to learn and be successful in ways that best fit them.

I am looking forward to partnering with you and your child this year.

Adriana Alexander

My name is Adriana Alexander and I am so excited to be spending another year as an Oakbrook Eagle! This will be my third year teaching and I hope for many more. I have the wonderful opportunity to teach students in their year before they transition to middle school. Giving them the tools they need to be successful academically and emotionally is what I strive to provide them with each day.

Being the daughter of Air Force parents, I moved a lot while growing up but lived the longest amount of time here in Washington state. I primarily lived in and attended school in the Kitsap County area. I love this state and its people and thought there would be no better way to give back to the place that I love than to teach the children who live here. I earned my Special/General Education Dual endorsement and certification at Western Washington University (GO VIKS!), though I push myself to continue to learn each day. Thank you for making me feel welcomed into this community and allowing me teach your kids while also learning from them.
