Lauren Coleman - Art/Music

I've been living in Washington for 5 1/2 years and love everything about this amazing state. I was born & raised in Southwestern Pennsylvania (about 20 miles south of Pittsburgh). I received my bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education in 2001 at California University of Pennsylvania and worked in preschool settings until I moved to Oklahoma with my husband who was in the army. From that point, I took some time off to have children (Blake & Alex who are Oakbrook students) & became a stay at home mom. The army eventually moved us to WA. Here, I taught preschool for three years & subbed in the CPSD last year. My husband retired from the army last year and we decided I would go back to work. This is my first year teaching full time and I am loving it! The staff and students truly make coming to work a joy! Please feel free to pop in during your child's music or art class or call/send an email if you have any questions.

Ted "Hendu" Henderson - Physical Education

One big reason I live my life is to have an impact on others' lives. Hopefully, I can put a smile on your child's face, teach them how to be good sports, good at sports, and good teammates to all. I want to challenge them to be the best that they are capable of, and to celebrate their successes no matter how big, or small. I want to challenge them to overcome areas in which they are struggling and to know that the most important thing is do their best in order to achieve success. Hard work, practice, and dedication require persistence and a willingness to keep on trying. Quitting is never an option.

Thank you for sharing your wonderful children with us here at Oakbrook. They are the reason we chose to become teachers in the first place.I have been teaching at Oakbrook my entire career.  I was hired in 1989 to teach 4th grade. I remained a classroom teacher for seven years. This year is my 22nd as a P.E. teacher and 29th here at Oakbrook. I love it at Oakbrook.  I also coached baseball at Lakes High School for seven years. And, this year I am in my third year as the boys golf coach
at Lakes.

My family and I live in Olympia. My wife, Dolora, is also a teacher (8th grade). Our son, Nick, graduated from the University of Washington in June and has a job in Seattle working for Price Waterhouse Coopers. Our, daughter, Hayley, is an 10th grader at Capital High School in Olympia. My hobbies include spending time with my family and friends, golfing, and following professional sports leagues, and working in our yard. You, as parents, are welcome to join us on your child's P.E. day. Just sign in at the office and head on down to the gym. Have a great day!

Dennis Selberg - Librarian/ Media Specialist

This is my 12th year here at Oakbrook! I have loved every minute. 3 years ago I was blessed with the position of Librarian/Media Specialist. I now get to see every kid at least once a week. We will be checking out books every other week and on the odd week we will work on some sort of computer activity. We have a new typing program this year as well as 2 new reading 1 new math and a brand new Code.org. So excited to teach once again this year.
